The Autopsy of Jane Doe (2016)

The Autopsy of Jane Doe is a 2016 American horror film directed by André Øvredal. It stars Emile Hirsch and Brian Cox as father-and-son coroners who experience supernatural phenomena while examining the body of an unidentified woman (played by Olwen Kelly). It premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 9, 2016, and will be released on December 21. It is Øvredal’s first English-language film.

 

This Jane Doe’s name is in in fact, Leila Naz, a victim of a satanic sacrifice. She is tortured beyond belief before eventually being murdered. Leila falls victim of this satanic cult after meeting a handsome stranger at a local bar in their town. From the get go nothing felt right as being a small town everyone knows one another, she and all of her friends have never seen this stranger before. After a few drinks and going home with Diablo she fights for her life, but unfortunately looses the fight. Her restless spirit is summoned afterwards by a demon named Jelani and comes back terrorizing a father and son who run the town morgue.
