Native Son (2019)
Native Son is a 2019 American drama film, directed by Rashid Johnson, from a screenplay by Suzan-Lori Parks. It is based upon novel of the same name by Richard Wright. It stars Ashton Sanders, Margaret Qualley, Nick Robinson, KiKi Layne, Bill Camp and Sanaa Lathan. It had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on January 24, 2019. It was released on April 6, 2019, by HBO Films A young African-American named Bigger Thomas (Ashton Sanders) living in Chicago enters into a seductive new world of money and power after he is hired as a chauffeur for an affluent businessman.
