Hotel Rwanda<\/b><\/i> is a 2004 British\u2013Italian\u2013South African historical drama film<\/a> directed by Terry George<\/a>. It was adapted from a screenplay co-written by George and Keir Pearson<\/a>, and stars Don Cheadle<\/a> and Sophie Okonedo<\/a> as hotelier<\/a> Paul Rusesabagina<\/a> and his wife Tatiana<\/a>. Based on the Rwandan genocide<\/a>, which occurred during the spring of 1994, the film, which has been called an African Schindler’s List<\/a><\/i>, documents Rusesabagina’s acts to save the lives of his family and more than a thousand other refugees by providing them with shelter in the besieged H\u00f4tel des Mille Collines<\/a>.[3]<\/a><\/sup> Hotel Rwanda<\/i> explores genocide<\/a>, political corruption, and the repercussions of violence.<\/p>\n

Paul Rusesabagina was a hotel manager who housed over a thousand Tutsi refugees during their struggle against the Hutu militia in Rwanda.<\/div><\/div><\/span><\/p>\n
