Schindler’s List<\/b><\/i> is a 1993 American epic<\/a> historical period drama<\/a> film directed and co-produced by Steven Spielberg<\/a> and written by Steven Zaillian<\/a>. It is based on the novel Schindler’s Ark<\/a><\/i> by Australian<\/a> novelist Thomas Keneally<\/a>. The film follows Oskar Schindler<\/a>, a Sudeten German<\/a> businessman, who saved the lives of more than a thousand mostly Polish-Jewish<\/a> refugees from the Holocaust<\/a> by employing them in his factories during World War II<\/a>. It stars Liam Neeson<\/a> as Schindler, Ralph Fiennes<\/a> as SS<\/a> officer Amon G\u00f6th<\/a>, and Ben Kingsley<\/a> as Schindler’s Jewish accountant Itzhak Stern<\/a>.<\/p>\n
