Serving as the eighteenth installment in the\u00a0Battlefield<\/a><\/i>\u00a0series, the game was released for\u00a0PlayStation 5<\/a>,\u00a0Windows<\/a>, and\u00a0Xbox Series X\/S<\/a>\u00a0on October 10, 2025. A\u00a0free-to-play<\/a>\u00a0battle royale<\/a>\u00a0mode, titled\u00a0RedSec<\/b><\/i>, was released on October 28, 2025.<\/p>\n

In September 2027,\u00a0NATO<\/a>\u00a0forces prepare to evacuate\u00a0Georgia<\/a>\u00a0to make way for the\u00a0private military company<\/a>\u00a0Pax Armata, ostensibly in a peaceful transfer. While preparing for a briefing,\u00a0U.S. Marine<\/a>\u00a0Raider<\/a>\u00a0Gunnery Sergeant Dylan Murphy (Jay Walker) and his squad Tempest 1-2 are ambushed by Pax forces in an unprovoked offensive. Murphy rallies his squad to destroy critical cybersecurity installations to prevent Pax Armata from acquiring them; they succeed, but their extraction helicopter is shot down and crashes, which the squad barely survives, they then become completely surrounded and overrun by Pax troops that leads into an intense last stand gunfight that kills most of the team, except Murphy, leaving him the only sole survivor before his rescue.<\/div><\/div><\/span><\/p>\n
