It took place on July 15, 2018 at the\u00a0PPG Paints Arena<\/a>\u00a0in\u00a0Pittsburgh<\/a>,\u00a0Pennsylvania<\/a>.[3]<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0It was the tenth event under the\u00a0Extreme Rules<\/a>\u00a0chronology.<\/p>\n

<\/span>The card comprised of twelve matches, including two in the preshow. In the main event,\u00a0Dolph Ziggler<\/a>\u00a0retained the\u00a0Intercontinental Championship<\/a>\u00a0in an\u00a0Iron Man match<\/a>\u00a0against\u00a0Seth Rollins<\/a>\u00a0that went into sudden death. This was the first time the Intercontinental Championship main evented a WWE pay-per-view since\u00a0Backlash in 2001<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In the co-main event,\u00a0AJ Styles<\/a>\u00a0retained the\u00a0WWE Championship<\/a>\u00a0against\u00a0Rusev<\/a>.
