The sixth and final season of\u00a0The Crown<\/a><\/i>, which follows the life and reign of\u00a0Queen Elizabeth II<\/a>, will be released by\u00a0Netflix<\/a>\u00a0in two parts: the first four episodes were released on 16 November 2023, and the remaining six are set for 14 December 2023. It is the only season of the series to be produced following the\u00a0death of Queen Elizabeth\u00a0II<\/a>\u00a0on 8 September 2022.<\/p>\n

The Crown<\/b><\/i>\u00a0is a historical drama television series about the reign of\u00a0Queen Elizabeth II<\/a>, created and principally written by\u00a0Peter Morgan<\/a>\u00a0and produced by\u00a0Left Bank Pictures<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Sony Pictures Television<\/a>\u00a0for\u00a0Netflix<\/a>. Morgan developed it from his drama film\u00a0The Queen<\/a><\/i>\u00a0(2006) and especially his stage play\u00a0The Audience<\/a><\/i>\u00a0(2013). The\u00a0first season<\/a>\u00a0covers the period from Elizabeth’s\u00a0marriage<\/a>\u00a0to\u00a0Philip, Duke of Edinburgh<\/a>, in 1947 to the disintegration of her sister\u00a0Princess Margaret<\/a>‘s engagement to Group Captain\u00a0Peter Townsend<\/a>\u00a0in 1955. The\u00a0second season<\/a>\u00a0covers the period from the\u00a0Suez Crisis<\/a>\u00a0in 1956 to the retirement of Prime Minister\u00a0Harold Macmillan<\/a>\u00a0in 1963 and the birth of\u00a0Prince Edward<\/a>\u00a0in 1964. The\u00a0third season<\/a>\u00a0spans 1964 to 1977, includes\u00a0Harold Wilson<\/a>‘s two periods as prime minister, and introduces\u00a0Camilla Shand<\/a>. The\u00a0fourth season<\/a>\u00a0spans 1979 to 1990 and includes\u00a0Margaret Thatcher<\/a>‘s tenure as prime minister and\u00a0Prince Charles<\/a>‘s\u00a0marriage<\/a>\u00a0to\u00a0Lady Diana Spencer<\/a>. The\u00a0fifth<\/a>\u00a0and sixth seasons, which will close the series, will cover the Queen’s reign into the 21st century.<\/div><\/div><\/span><\/p>\n
