It is part of the Resident Evil<\/a><\/i> franchise, set in the same universe as the associated video games (unlike the live action films<\/a> starring Milla Jovovich<\/a>). The film features the characters Chris Redfield<\/a>, Leon S. Kennedy<\/a> and Rebecca Chambers<\/a>.[1]<\/a><\/sup> It is the third CG movie, after Resident Evil: Degeneration<\/a><\/i> in 2008, followed by Resident Evil: Damnation<\/a><\/i> in 2012, and this film marks the third with Leon as a main character. The film is produced by Marza Animation Planet<\/a>,<\/sup> written by Makoto Fukami (Psycho-Pass<\/a><\/i>) and directed by Takanori Tsujimoto (The Next Generation: Patlabor<\/a>, Ultraman X<\/a><\/i>).<\/sup> Takashi Shimizu<\/a> will serve as executive producer.\u00a0<\/sup><\/p>\n
