It was released in Japan on July 24, 2019 on\u00a0Nintendo Switch<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0PlayStation 4<\/a>, initially one year before the Olympic games was due to take place. However due to the\u00a0COVID-19 pandemic in Japan<\/a>, the games were pushed back a further year, making the video game release exactly two years before the beginning of the\u00a02020 Summer Olympics<\/a>.[1]<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0The game was released globally on June 22, 2021, alongside versions for\u00a0Xbox One<\/a>\u00a0(with enhancements for\u00a0Xbox Series X\/S<\/a>),\u00a0PC<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Stadia<\/a>. It is the first traditional Olympics game since\u00a0London 2012<\/a><\/i>.<\/p>\n
