In Dubious Battle<\/b><\/i> is a 2016 drama film<\/a> directed by and produced by James Franco<\/a>, based on John Steinbeck<\/a>‘s novel of the same name<\/a>, with a screenplay by Matt Rager. The film features an ensemble cast, consisting of Franco, Nat Wolff<\/a>, Josh Hutcherson<\/a>, Selena Gomez<\/a>, Vincent D’Onofrio<\/a>, Analeigh Tipton<\/a>, Zach Braff<\/a>, Bryan Cranston<\/a>, Ed Harris<\/a>, and Robert Duvall<\/a>. The film gets caught up in the labor movement for fruit workers in California during the 1930s. The film had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival<\/a> on September 3, 2016.<\/p>\n

In California apple country, 900 migratory workers rise up against the landowners. The group takes on a life of its own, stronger than its individual members and more frightening. Led by the doomed Jim Nolan (Nat Wolff), the strike is founded on his tragic idealism and the philosophy to never submit or yield.<\/div><\/div>\n
