Tropico 6<\/b><\/i>\u00a0is a\u00a0construction, management<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0political simulation<\/a>\u00a0game in the\u00a0Tropico<\/a><\/i>\u00a0series, developed by\u00a0Limbic Entertainment<\/a>, published by\u00a0Kalypso Media<\/a>, and announced at\u00a0E3 2017<\/a>.[1]<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0Originally intended for a 2018 release,\u00a0Tropico 6<\/i>\u00a0was released on\u00a0Microsoft Windows<\/a>,\u00a0macOS<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Linux<\/a>\u00a0in March 2019, and for\u00a0PlayStation 4<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Xbox One<\/a>\u00a0in September 2019.[2]<\/a><\/sup>[3]<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0On March 30, 2020, it was announced that the game would released for\u00a0Nintendo Switch<\/a>\u00a0in November 2020.<\/p>\n

As in the other games in the series, the player assumes the role of “El Presidente”, the leader of the Caribbean island nation of Tropico. Similarly to\u00a0Tropico 5<\/a><\/i>, there are four eras: The Colonial era, the World Wars era, the\u00a0Cold War<\/a>\u00a0era, and the modern era. Unlike previous games in the series, where Tropico consisted of only one island,\u00a0Tropico 6<\/i>\u00a0allows players to build on an\u00a0archipelago<\/a>\u00a0of smaller islands, allowing players to build bridges (in the World Wars era and later) from their starting island to the other islands in the chain.[4]<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0According to senior content designer Johannes Pfeiffer,\u00a0Tropico 6<\/i>\u00a0will have “fully simulated” citizens, where the actions of El Presidente’s government towards the citizenry could have an effect on productivity, and possibly even result in a revolt.[5]<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0In addition to customizing their own El Presidente (as either male or female), players can also customize the presidential palace.[6]<\/a><\/sup><\/div><\/div><\/span><\/p>\n
