Vergil<\/b>\u00a0is the son\u00a0of the demon\u00a0Sparda<\/a>\u00a0and human\u00a0Eva<\/a>, the elder twin brother of\u00a0Dante<\/a>, and the father of\u00a0Nero<\/a>.\u00a0He is one of the main characters in the\u00a0Devil May Cry<\/a><\/i>\u00a0series, introduced in the\u00a0first game<\/a>\u00a0as a recurring antagonist , one of the main antagonists in\u00a0Devil May Cry 3: Dante’s Awakening<\/a><\/i>\u00a0and the final antagonist turned anti-hero in\u00a0Devil May Cry 5<\/a><\/i>. In addition to being a boss character in games he becomes playable in Special Editions of\u00a0Devil May Cry 3<\/i>\u00a0through\u00a05<\/i>.[note 1]<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n

Following the death of their mother as children, Vergil and Dante go their separate ways, with Vergil rejecting his humanity and embracing his demonic heritage, in contrast with\u00a0his younger brother’s embrace of humanity and initial rejection of the demonic. Stoic and reserved, Vergil displays a willingness to do anything in his quest to obtain the power of his father, Sparda.<\/div><\/div><\/span><\/p>\n
