Crysis<\/b><\/i>\u00a0is a\u00a0first-person shooter<\/a>\u00a0video game developed by\u00a0Crytek<\/a>\u00a0and published by\u00a0Electronic Arts<\/a>\u00a0for\u00a0Microsoft Windows<\/a>\u00a0and released in November 2007. It is the first game in the\u00a0Crysis<\/i>\u00a0series<\/a>.[2]<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0A standalone expansion entitled\u00a0Crysis Warhead<\/a><\/i>\u00a0was released in 2008, following similar events as Crysis but from a different narrative perspective.[3]<\/a><\/sup>[4]<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0At the time\u00a0Crysis<\/i>\u00a0was released, and years thereafter, it has been praised for its milestones in graphical design (commensurate with high hardware requirements).<\/p>\n

The game is based in a future where a massive, ancient\u00a0alien<\/a>-built structure has been discovered buried inside a mountain in the fictional Lingshan Islands, near the coast of the east\u00a0Philippines<\/a>.[5]<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0The single-player campaign has the player assume the role of\u00a0U.S. Army<\/a>\u00a0Delta Force<\/a>\u00a0soldier Jake Dunn, referred to in-game by his callsign, Nomad. Nomad is armed with various futuristic weapons and equipment, most notably a “Nanosuit<\/a>” which was inspired by the real-life military concept of\u00a0Future Force Warrior<\/a>.[6]<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0In\u00a0Crysis<\/i>, the player fights both North Korean and\u00a0extraterrestrial<\/a>\u00a0enemies in various environments on and around the island. A\u00a0remaster<\/a>\u00a0for the game was released for Microsoft Windows,\u00a0PlayStation 4<\/a>,\u00a0Xbox One<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Nintendo Switch<\/a>\u00a0in 2020.<\/div><\/div><\/span><\/p>\n
