Stedman. An international co-production<\/a> between the United States, Australia, the United Kingdom and New Zealand, the film stars Michael Fassbender<\/a>, Alicia Vikander<\/a>, Rachel Weisz<\/a>, Bryan Brown<\/a> and Jack Thompson<\/a>. The film tells the story of a lighthouse keeper and his wife who rescue and adopt an infant girl adrift at sea. Years later, the couple discovers the child’s true parentage and are faced with the moral dilemma of their actions.<\/p>\n

The Light Between Oceans<\/i> had its world premiere at the 73rd Venice International Film Festival<\/a> on September 1, 2016,\u00a0where it competed for the Golden Lion<\/a>.\u00a0The film was released by Touchstone Pictures<\/a> in North America on September 2, 2016,\u00a0being the last DreamWorks Pictures<\/a> film distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures<\/a> through their 2011 output deal. The film was released in the United Kingdom on November 1, 2016, by Entertainment One Films<\/a>.\u00a0It received mixed reviews and has grossed $21 million.<\/p>\n

Tom is a World War I veteran who maintains a lighthouse off the shore of Australia with his wife Isabel, a woman desperate to have a baby. Her prayers are answered when an infant washes up on shore in a rowboat. Tom thinks they should notify the authorities but ultimately gives in to Isabel’s wish to keep the girl. Fate strikes again when the couple meet the child’s biological mother on the mainland. Now, Tom and Isabel must make a decision that will forever affect the lives of four people.<\/div><\/div>\n
