Saints Row: The Third<\/b><\/i>\u00a0is a 2011\u00a0action-adventure game<\/a>\u00a0developed by\u00a0Volition<\/a>\u00a0and published by\u00a0THQ<\/a>. It is the third title in the\u00a0Saints Row<\/a><\/i>\u00a0series. As in the previous games, the\u00a0player-character<\/a>\u00a0leads the Third Street Saints gang in a\u00a0turf war<\/a>\u00a0against three rival gangs using a variety of weapons and vehicles in\u00a0single-player<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0cooperative<\/a>\u00a0play; the game is no longer set in the fictional city of Stilwater, but rather a new one named Steelport, and introduces new gangs, characters, and gameplay features. It was released on November 15, 2011 for\u00a0Microsoft Windows<\/a>,\u00a0PlayStation 3<\/a>, and\u00a0Xbox 360<\/a>.\u00a0Deep Silver<\/a>\u00a0published a\u00a0Nintendo Switch<\/a>\u00a0port on May 10, 2019. A\u00a0remastered<\/a>\u00a0version of the game, entitled\u00a0Saints Row: The Third Remastered<\/i>, was also released by Deep Silver on May 22, 2020 for\u00a0PlayStation 4<\/a>,\u00a0Xbox One<\/a>, and Microsoft Windows.<\/p>\n

<\/span>Game development began by late 2008. There was high staff turnover from the previous\u00a0Saints Row<\/i>\u00a0team, with only one-fifth of the final 100-person staff having worked on a previous title in the series. They aimed to improve on the series by giving the game a coherent tone, and found it in films such as\u00a0Hot Fuzz<\/a><\/i>\u00a0and the game’s signature\u00a0sex toy<\/a>\u00a0bat.\u00a0Saints Row: The Third<\/i>\u00a0was built using a proprietary engine known as Core Technology Group and the\u00a0Havok<\/a>\u00a0physics engine.<\/div><\/div><\/span><\/p>\n
