It was released in October 2016 for\u00a0PlayStation 4<\/a>,\u00a0Xbox One<\/a>, and\u00a0Microsoft Windows<\/a>, and in May 2017 for\u00a0macOS<\/a>.[2]<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0It is the third main game in the\u00a0Mafia<\/i>\u00a0series<\/a>, and the sequel to\u00a0Mafia II<\/a><\/i>. Set within the fictional city of New Bordeaux, based on\u00a0New Orleans<\/a>, the single-player story follows Lincoln Clay, a criminal who aims to build a new crime organization while seeking revenge on the\u00a0Italian mob<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Mafia III<\/i>\u00a0is an\u00a0action-adventure<\/a>\u00a0game set in an\u00a0open world<\/a>\u00a0environment and played from a\u00a0third-person perspective<\/a>, in which the player assume control of Lincoln Clay, a\u00a0Vietnam War<\/a>\u00a0veteran on a quest to seek revenge for his adopted family, who are murdered by local mobs. The game is set in 1968 New Bordeaux, a re-imagined version of\u00a0New Orleans<\/a>, with the game world being larger than the\u00a0Mafia<\/i>\u00a0and\u00a0Mafia II<\/i>\u00a0maps combined.\u00a0Mafia III<\/i>‘<\/span>s map is made up of ten districts: Bayou Fantom, Delray Hollow, Barclay Mills, Frisco Fields, Pointe Verdun, Tickfaw Harbor, Southdowns, River Row, Downtown, and the French Ward. Players can complete objectives using a variety of approaches. For example, players can use the weapons provided in the game, like\u00a0shotguns<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0revolvers<\/a>, to eliminate enemies, or call for allies, who arrive in a van and assist players.<\/span><\/div><\/div><\/span><\/p>\n
