Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2<\/b><\/i>\u00a0is a 2009\u00a0first-person shooter game<\/a>\u00a0developed by\u00a0Infinity Ward<\/a>\u00a0and published by\u00a0Activision<\/a>. It is the sixth installment in the\u00a0Call of Duty<\/i>\u00a0series<\/a>\u00a0and the direct sequel to\u00a0Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare<\/a><\/i>, continuing the storyline. It was released worldwide on November 10, 2009 for\u00a0Microsoft Windows<\/a>, the\u00a0PlayStation 3<\/a>, and\u00a0Xbox 360<\/a>. A separate version for the\u00a0Nintendo DS<\/a>, titled\u00a0Modern Warfare: Mobilized<\/a><\/i>, was also released on the same day. A version for\u00a0macOS<\/a>\u00a0was developed by\u00a0Aspyr<\/a>\u00a0and released in May 2014, and the Xbox 360 version was made\u00a0backward compatible<\/a>\u00a0for the\u00a0Xbox One<\/a>\u00a0in 2018.<\/p>\n

<\/span>The game’s campaign follows the Task Force 141, a\u00a0special forces<\/a>\u00a0unit fronted by Captain\u00a0Soap MacTavish<\/a>, as they hunt Vladimir Makarov, leader of the Russian Ultranationalist party, and the\u00a0United States Army Rangers<\/a>, who are defending the country from a Russian invasion. The game’s main playable characters are Sergeant Gary “Roach” Sanderson, of the 141, and Private James Ramirez, of the Army Rangers, with Captain MacTavish becoming playable later in the campaign. An expansive multiplayer mode is featured in the game, with several new features and modes that were not seen in its predecessor.<\/div><\/div><\/span><\/p>\n
