It is a direct sequel to the 2015 title\u00a0Ori and the Blind Forest<\/a><\/i>\u00a0and was announced during\u00a0Electronic Entertainment Expo 2017<\/a>. Players assume control of Ori, a white guardian spirit. To progress in the game, players are tasked to move between platforms and solve puzzles. Unlike\u00a0The Blind Forest<\/a><\/i>,\u00a0Will of the Wisps<\/i>\u00a0relies on autosaving rather than manually placed\u00a0soul links<\/i>, and the sequential upgrade system of the first title has been abandoned for a\u00a0shard<\/i>\u00a0system more akin to\u00a0charms<\/i>\u00a0in\u00a0Hollow Knight<\/a><\/i>.[2]<\/a><\/sup>\u00a0The game world unfolds to the player in the fashion of a\u00a0Metroidvania<\/a>, with new movement abilities allowing the player to access previously inaccessible areas.
