The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford<\/b><\/i>\u00a0is a 2007 American\u00a0epic<\/a>\u00a0revisionist Western<\/a>\u00a0film written and directed by\u00a0Andrew Dominik<\/a>. Adapted from\u00a0Ron Hansen<\/a>‘s\u00a01983 novel of the same name<\/a>, the film dramatizes the relationship between\u00a0Jesse James<\/a>\u00a0(Brad Pitt<\/a>) and\u00a0Robert Ford<\/a>\u00a0(Casey Affleck<\/a>), focusing on the events that lead up to the titular killing. Filming took place near\u00a0Calgary<\/a>,\u00a0Canmore<\/a>, and\u00a0Edmonton<\/a>,\u00a0Alberta<\/a>, and\u00a0Winnipeg<\/a>,\u00a0Manitoba<\/a>. Initially intended for a 2006 release, it was postponed and re-edited for a September 21, 2007 release date. The film received generally positive reviews, and was nominated for two\u00a0Academy Awards<\/a>:\u00a0Best Cinematography<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Best Supporting Actor<\/a>\u00a0for Affleck.<\/p>\n
