Netflix<\/a> announced on August 11, 2015 that it would be released on the streaming service in 2016.\u00a0It was reported on August 26, 2015 that previous Guest collaborators Jane Lynch<\/a>, Parker Posey<\/a>, John Michael Higgins<\/a>, Jennifer Coolidge<\/a>, Bob Balaban<\/a>, and Chris O’Dowd<\/a> were in negotiations to join the film.\u00a0It screened in the Special Presentations section at the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It premiered on Netflix on October 13, 2016.<\/p>\n

Mascots is a new comedy from Christopher Guest, director of Waiting for Guffman and Best in Show. Starring many of his regular troupe of actors, this latest film takes place in the ultra-competitive world of sports mascots where they compete for the most prestigious award in their field, the Gold Fluffy.<\/div><\/div>\n
