Bodyguard<\/b><\/i> is a 2011 Indian Hindi<\/a>-language romantic<\/a> action comedy<\/a> film co written and directed by Siddique<\/a>.[4]<\/a><\/sup> It is a remake of the director’s own 2010 Malayalam<\/a> film of the same name<\/a> starring Dileep<\/a> and Nayantara<\/a>. The film was produced by Atul Agnihotri<\/a> and Alvira Khan Agnihotri<\/a> it featured Salman Khan<\/a> and Kareena Kapoor<\/a> in the lead roles, with Aditya Pancholi<\/a> in a special appearance and Karisma Kapoor<\/a> in a voice role.[5]<\/a><\/sup> It also stars Raj Babbar<\/a>, Mahesh Manjrekar<\/a> and Hazel Keech<\/a> in supporting roles.[6]<\/a><\/sup> The film’s first look and theatrical trailer was unveiled on 21 July 2011. Bodyguard<\/i> was released in 3250 theatres worldwide. The film broke many records upon its release. Within the first day of its release, it went on to become the highest opening day grosser<\/a> as well as the biggest grosser ever for a single day up until then.[7]<\/a><\/sup> The film set another box office record, netting \u20b91.03 billion<\/span> (US$15\u00a0million) in its first week, thus becoming the highest opening week grossing<\/a> Bollywood film until then.
