Young Justice: Outsiders<\/b><\/i> is the third season of the American animated<\/a> superhero<\/a> series Young Justice<\/a><\/i>, developed by Brandon Vietti<\/a> and Greg Weisman<\/a>. The series follows the lives of teenage superheroes and sidekicks who are members of a covert operation<\/a> group, referred to simply as “The Team”, that acts as a young counterpart to the famous adult team, the Justice League<\/a>. The third season focuses on the Team battling metahuman<\/a> trafficking as, after the events of the second season, Invasion<\/i>, where the Reach revealed the existence of the meta-gene, various nations and organizations have started participating in such activities; it also features the superhero team Outsiders<\/a>.\u00a0Young Justice<\/i> originally aired on Cartoon Network<\/a> for two seasons from 2010 to 2013, before being cancelled due to low toy sales and Mattel<\/a> pulling funding. Following a strong fan campaign and high viewership ratings on Netflix<\/a>, the series was officially renewed for a third season by Warner Bros.<\/a> in November 2016. Development on Outsiders<\/i> began the next month. By July 2017, it was split into two separate sections\/arcs, each consisting of thirteen episodes, making a total of twenty-six for the whole season. The first half of the season was released between January 4 and 25, 2019,[1]<\/a><\/sup> on DC’s new digital platform, DC Universe<\/a>, for a total of 13 episodes.[2]<\/a><\/sup> The second half of the season, consisting of the remaining 13 episodes, premiered on July 2, 2019.[3]<\/a><\/sup> During the Young Justice<\/i> portion of the DC Universe panel at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, executive producers Greg Weisman and Brandon Vietti announced that production for the fourth season is already underway to continue the story beyond Outsiders<\/i>.<\/p>\n
