Rebel Galaxy<\/b><\/i> is a space Western<\/a>-styled space trading and combat simulation<\/a> single-player video game<\/a> developed and published by two-person studio Double Damage Games.[1]<\/a><\/sup>[2]<\/a><\/sup> It was released on Steam<\/a> and GOG.com<\/a> for Microsoft Windows<\/a> and OS X<\/a> on October 20, 2015.[3]<\/a><\/sup> Xbox One<\/a> and PlayStation 4<\/a> versions were released in January 2016.[4]<\/a><\/sup>[5]<\/a><\/sup>[6] <\/a><\/sup>A prequel of the game, called Rebel Galaxy Outlaw<\/a>, will be released on 13th August 2019 on the Epic Games Store.<\/p>\n

The game features space combat in capital ships<\/a> in a randomly generated universe.[1]<\/a><\/sup> While non-player<\/a> fighter craft and gunships are capable of three-dimensional maneuvering, the player and other capital ships are restricted to a two-dimensional plane of movement with combat focusing on using broadsides<\/a> to attack and defeat enemy ships.[7]<\/a><\/sup>[8]<\/a><\/sup> Similar to earlier space flight simulator games such as Freelancer<\/a><\/i>, players are free to pursue various activities, such as pirating<\/a>, trading, or bounty hunting<\/a>, in addition to completing story missions to advance the plot.<\/div><\/div><\/span><\/p>\n
