Main Hoon Na<\/b><\/i> (English\u00a0: I am here)<\/i> is a 2004 Indian action-comedy<\/a> film, co-written and directed by Farah Khan<\/a> in her directorial debut. The screenplay was written by Farah Khan and Abbas Tyrewala<\/a> based on the story by Anvita Dutt Guptan<\/a>. The film stars Shah Rukh Khan<\/a>, Zayed Khan<\/a>, Sushmita Sen<\/a>, Amrita Rao<\/a> and Sunil Shetty<\/a>. Amisha Patel<\/a> and Ayesha Takia<\/a> were the original choices for Amrita Rao<\/a>\u2019s role. It was remade into Tamil as Aegan<\/a><\/i> starring Ajith Kumar<\/a>, Nayantara<\/a> and Pia Bajpai<\/a>.The film is the story of Indian army<\/a> Major<\/a> Ram Prasad Sharma (Shah Rukh Khan) who becomes embroiled in the events to ensure that “Project Milap” – the releasing of civilian captives on either side of the borders of India<\/a> and Pakistan<\/a> – can take place as a sign of trust and peace between the two nations.[3]<\/a><\/sup> Main Hoon Na<\/i> is one of the most successful Indian films discussing the Indo-Pakistani conflict from a neutral point of view. The film was shot at St. Paul’s School, Darjeeling<\/a>, West Bengal<\/a>, India. It is the first film of Shah Rukh Khan’s production company Red Chillies Entertainment<\/a>. It was released on 30 April 2004 and received positive reviews from critics.<\/p>\n

Major Ram is assigned with two missions, one is to protect a fragile peace initiative with Pakistan called Project Milap, and the other is to protect the daughter of General Bakshi, the commander in charge of Project Milap. The project takes him to St. Paul’s College in Darjeeling, where he must go undercover as a student. As a mature student, Major Ram becomes a misfit with the hip college students.<\/span><\/div><\/div><\/span><\/p>\n
