Marvel’s Jessica Jones<\/b><\/i>, or simply Jessica Jones<\/b><\/i>, is an American web television<\/a> series created for Netflix<\/a> by Melissa Rosenberg<\/a>, based on the Marvel Comics<\/a> character of the same name<\/a>. It is set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe<\/a> (MCU), sharing continuity with the films of the franchise<\/a>, and is the second in a series of shows<\/a> that led to The Defenders<\/a><\/i> crossover miniseries. The series is produced by Marvel Television<\/a> in association with ABC Studios<\/a> and Tall Girls Productions, with Rosenberg serving as showrunner<\/a>. Krysten Ritter<\/a> stars as Jessica Jones, a former superhero who opens her own detective agency. Rachael Taylor<\/a>, Eka Darville<\/a>, and Carrie-Anne Moss<\/a> also star, with Mike Colter<\/a>, Wil Traval<\/a>, Erin Moriarty<\/a>, and David Tennant<\/a> joining them for the first season<\/a>, and J.R. Ramirez<\/a>, Terry Chen<\/a>, Leah Gibson<\/a> and Janet McTeer<\/a> joining for the second season<\/a>. A version of the series was originally developed by Rosenberg for ABC<\/a> in 2010, but the network passed on it. By late 2013, Rosenberg was reworking the series for Netflix as A.K.A. Jessica Jones<\/i>. Ritter was cast as Jones in December 2014. Jessica Jones<\/i> is filmed in New York City, in areas that still look like old Hell’s Kitchen<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Following the tragic end of her brief superhero career, Jessica Jones tries to rebuild her life as a private investigator, dealing with cases involving people with remarkable abilities in New York City.<\/div><\/div><\/span><\/p>\n
