Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile<\/b><\/i> is a 2019 American biographical<\/a> crime thriller<\/a> film about serial killer Ted Bundy<\/a>. Directed by Joe Berlinger<\/a> with a screenplay from Michael Werwie, the film is based on the memoir The Phantom Prince: My Life with Ted Bundy<\/i> by Elizabeth Kendall, Bundy’s former girlfriend. The film stars Zac Efron<\/a> as Bundy,[1]<\/a><\/sup> Lily Collins<\/a> as Kendall, Kaya Scodelario<\/a> as Bundy’s wife Carole Ann Boone, and John Malkovich<\/a> as Edward Cowart<\/a>, the presiding judge at Bundy’s trial. The title of the film is a reference to Cowart’s remarks on Bundy’s murders while sentencing him to death.\u00a0Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile<\/i> had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival<\/a> on January 26, 2019 and was released on May 3, 2019, by Netflix<\/a> in the US and Sky Cinema<\/a> in the UK.
