It is the fifth installment in the Ice Age<\/i> film series<\/a> and a sequel to 2012’s Ice Age: Continental Drift<\/a><\/i>.<\/p>\n

The film features the voice acting of Ray Romano<\/a>, John Leguizamo<\/a>, Denis Leary<\/a>, Queen Latifah<\/a>, Keke Palmer<\/a>, Jennifer Lopez<\/a>, Simon Pegg<\/a> and Chris Wedge<\/a> all reprise their roles from previous films.\u00a0New additions to the cast include Jesse Tyler Ferguson<\/a>, Adam DeVine<\/a>, Nick Offerman<\/a>, Max Greenfield<\/a>, Stephanie Beatriz<\/a>, Melissa Rauch<\/a>, Michael Strahan<\/a>, Jessie J<\/a> and Neil deGrasse Tyson<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The film premiered at the Sydney Film Festival<\/a> on June 19, 2016, and was released in the United States on July 22, 2016 by 20th Century Fox<\/a> in 2D and 3D. It received negative reviews and has grossed over $288 million worldwide.<\/p>\n

Scrat’s epic pursuit of the elusive acorn catapults him into the universe where he accidentally sets off a series of cosmic events that transform and threaten the Ice Age World. To save themselves, Sid, Manny, Diego, and the rest of the herd must leave their home and embark on a quest full of comedy and adventure, travelling to exotic new lands and encountering a host of colorful new characters.<\/div><\/div>\n
