Sharkwater Extinction<\/b><\/i> is a 2018 Canadian<\/a> documentary film, directed by Rob Stewart<\/a>. It premiered at the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival<\/a>.[1]<\/a><\/sup> A sequel to his 2006 film Sharkwater<\/a><\/i>, the film, which Stewart was working on at the time of his death in a diving accident in January 2017,[2]<\/a><\/sup> was completed by the Rob Stewart Foundation in collaboration with director Sturla Gunnarsson<\/a> and editor Nick Hector<\/a>.[3]<\/a><\/sup>[4]\u00a0<\/a><\/sup>The film premiered on September 7, 2018, at a TIFF “Special Event” that served as both the film screening and a memorial tribute to Stewart.[5]<\/a><\/sup> It also received a gala screening at the Cin\u00e9fest Sudbury International Film Festival<\/a>,[6]<\/a><\/sup> as well as screenings at the Calgary International Film Festival<\/a>[7]<\/a><\/sup> and the Vancouver International Film Festival<\/a>.[8]<\/a><\/sup> Rob Stewart’s mother, Sandy Stewart, said “[the] entire team stayed with it, everybody stepped up. We have people from all over the world \u2014 cinematographers, filmmakers, really important people \u2014 offering to help finish this, and that was really heartwarming.”[9]<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n
