Lucifer<\/b><\/i> is a 2019 Indian Malayalam<\/a>-language film directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran<\/a> and written by Murali Gopy<\/a>. Produced by Antony Perumbavoor<\/a> through the production house Aashirvad Cinemas<\/a>, the film marks Prithviraj’s directorial debut and features Mohanlal<\/a> in the lead role as Stephen Nedumpally, alongside a supporting cast including Prithviraj Sukumaran, Vivek Oberoi<\/a>, Manju Warrier<\/a>, Tovino Thomas<\/a>, Indrajith Sukumaran<\/a>, Saniya Iyappan<\/a>, Saikumar<\/a>, Kalabhavan Shajohn<\/a>, and Nyla Usha<\/a>. Deepak Dev<\/a> composed the music for the film, and the cinematography was handled by Sujith Vaassudev<\/a>. Development of the film began in 2016 when Murali pitched a story to Prithviraj at the sets of Tiyaan<\/a><\/i> in Ramoji Film City<\/a>, it was when he decided to make Lucifer<\/i> his directorial debut. Title of the film was taken from an unrealised project of director Rajesh Pillai<\/a> which was also written by Murali with another story. Pre-production of Lucifer<\/i> began in 2017 and Murali completed the final draft of the screenplay in February 2018. Principal photography<\/a> began in mid-July that year and lasted till January 2019, with filming carried out in Idukki<\/a>, Thiruvananthapuram<\/a>, Ernakulam<\/a>, and Kollam<\/a> districts, and Mumbai<\/a>, Bangalore<\/a>, Lakshadweep<\/a>, and Russia<\/a>.\u00a0Lucifer<\/i> was released in theatres worldwide on 28 March 2019. The film performed well at the box office, crossing the \u20b950 crore<\/a> mark in four days, and \u20b9100 crore<\/a> mark in eight days,[2]<\/a><\/sup>[3]<\/a><\/sup> becoming the fastest Malayalam film to reach both milestones.<\/p>\n
