It is the second adaptation of <a title=\"Pet Sematary\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pet_Sematary\">the novel of the same name<\/a> by <a title=\"Stephen King\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Stephen_King\">Stephen King<\/a>, after the <a title=\"Pet Sematary (1989 film)\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pet_Sematary_(1989_film)\">1989 film<\/a>. The film stars <a title=\"Jason Clarke\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jason_Clarke\">Jason Clarke<\/a>, <a title=\"Amy Seimetz\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Amy_Seimetz\">Amy Seimetz<\/a>, and <a title=\"John Lithgow\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/John_Lithgow\">John Lithgow<\/a>, and follows a family that discovers a mysterious graveyard in the woods behind their new home. Talks for a new adaptation of <i>Pet Sematary<\/i> began in March 2010, with Greenberg initially writing the screenplay. <a title=\"Lorenzo di Bonaventura\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Lorenzo_di_Bonaventura\">Lorenzo di Bonaventura<\/a> and Steven Schneider were revealed to be producing the remake with <a title=\"Juan Carlos Fresnadillo\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Juan_Carlos_Fresnadillo\">Juan Carlos Fresnadillo<\/a> in talks to direct it.
