Dumbo<\/b><\/i> is a 2019 American fantasy adventure<\/a> film directed by Tim Burton<\/a>, with a screenplay written by Ehren Kruger<\/a>. It is a loose remake of Walt Disney<\/a>‘s 1941 animated film<\/a> of the same name. It is based on the novel by Helen Aberson and Harold Pearl<\/a>. The film stars Colin Farrell<\/a>, Michael Keaton<\/a>, Danny DeVito<\/a>, Eva Green<\/a>, and Alan Arkin<\/a>, and follows a family that works at a failing circus as they encounter a baby elephant with extremely large ears who is capable of flying. Plans of a live-action Dumbo<\/i> film were announced in 2014 and Burton was confirmed as director in March 2015. Much of the cast signed on in March 2017 and principal photography<\/a> began in July of that year in England, lasting until November. It is the first of four remakes that Disney is planning to release in 2019, along with Aladdin<\/a><\/i>, The Lion King<\/a><\/i> and Maleficent: Mistress of Evil<\/a><\/i>.[5]\u00a0<\/a><\/sup>The film premiered in Los Angeles<\/a> on March 11, 2019, and was theatrically released in the United States on March 29, 2019.
