PASKAL: The Movie<\/b><\/i> is a 2018 Malaysian military<\/a> action film<\/a> directed by Adrian Teh<\/a> and produced by Asia Tropical Films and Golden Screen Cinemas. It stars Hairul Azreen, Jasmine Suraya Chin<\/a>, and Tiger Chen Hu<\/a>. It was inspired by the elite Royal Malaysian Navy<\/a> (TLDM) force named PASKAL<\/a> (Pasukan Khas Laut). With a budget of 10 million RM<\/a> (2.4 million USD<\/a>), PASKAL: The Movie<\/i> is the most expensive Malaysian film ever made.[1]\u00a0<\/a><\/sup>The movie was filmed in Kuala Lumpur<\/a> from March to May 2018; its official premiere was on September 27, 2018.[6]<\/a><\/sup>[7]<\/a><\/sup> Although the movie received mixed critical reviews, it netted an overall profit of almost RM 30 million,[8]<\/a><\/sup> making it one of the highest-grossing local films in Malaysia<\/a>, following Munafik 2<\/i><\/a> and Ghost of Limrah 3<\/i>.[9]<\/a><\/sup>[10]<\/a><\/sup>In December 2018, PASKAL<\/i> was listed by the local Malaysian newspaper Harian Metro<\/a><\/i> as among the top 10 local films in Malaysian history.<\/p>\n

<\/span>PASKAL, or Pasukan Khas Laut, is an elite unit in the Royal Malaysian Navy. The movie follows the true events of PASKAL’s Lieutenant Commander Arman Anwar and his team’s mission to rescue a tanker, MV Bunga Laurel, that was hijacked by Somalian Pirates in 2011.Lieutenant Commander Arman Anwar is a Tentera Laut Diraja Malaysia (TLDM) Special Force PASKAL Operative; One with an illustrious service history. Having lost Arman’s father to the same cause, his mother has always been bitter about Arman’s choices and predicament. In one of his dangerous mission, one of his teammate died and another one was dismissed. Just when Arman decided to ask for transfer he is needed for one last mission that would change his world forever.<\/div><\/div><\/span><\/p>\n
