Toy Story<\/b><\/i> is a 1995 American computer-animated<\/a> buddy<\/a> adventure<\/a> comedy film<\/a> produced by Pixar Animation Studios<\/a> and released by Walt Disney Pictures<\/a>. The feature-film directorial debut of John Lasseter<\/a>, it was the first feature-length film to be entirely computer-animated, as well as the first feature film from Pixar. The screenplay was written by Joss Whedon<\/a>, Andrew Stanton<\/a>, Joel Cohen<\/a>, and Alec Sokolow<\/a> from a story by Lasseter, Pete Docter<\/a>, Stanton, and Joe Ranft<\/a>. The film features music by Randy Newman<\/a>, and was executive-produced by Steve Jobs<\/a> and Edwin Catmull<\/a>. The film features the voices of Tom Hanks<\/a>, Tim Allen<\/a>, Don Rickles<\/a>, Wallace Shawn<\/a>, John Ratzenberger<\/a>, Jim Varney<\/a>, Annie Potts<\/a>, R. Lee Ermey<\/a>, John Morris<\/a>, Laurie Metcalf<\/a> and Erik von Detten<\/a>. Taking place in a world where anthropomorphic<\/a> toys come to life when humans are not present, its plot focuses on the relationship between an old-fashioned pullstring cowboy doll named Woody<\/a> and an astronaut action figure Buzz Lightyear<\/a> as they evolve from rivals competing for the affections of their owner Andy, to friends who work together to be reunited with him after being separated from him.<\/p>\n

Woody (Tom Hanks), a good-hearted cowboy doll who belongs to a young boy named Andy (John Morris), sees his position as Andy’s favorite toy jeopardized when his parents buy him a Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen) action figure. Even worse, the arrogant Buzz thinks he’s a real spaceman on a mission to return to his home planet. When Andy’s family moves to a new house, Woody and Buzz must escape the clutches of maladjusted neighbor Sid Phillips (Erik von Detten) and reunite with their boy.<\/span><\/div><\/div><\/span><\/p>\n
