Climax<\/b><\/i> is a 2018 Belgian-French musical<\/a> horror film<\/a> written, co-edited and directed by Gaspar No\u00e9<\/a>. The film stars Sofia Boutella<\/a> alongside an ensemble cast of supporting roles. The story is set in 1996, as 20 French dancers gather in a remote, empty school building to rehearse on a wintry night. The all-night celebration morphs into a hallucinatory nightmare when they learn their sangria is laced with LSD. The film premiered on 10 May 2018 in the Directors’ Fortnight<\/a> section at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival<\/a> where it won the Art Cinema Award. It was theatrically released in France on 19 September 2018 by Wild Bunch<\/a> and in Belgium on 21 November 2018 by O’Brother Distribution. Climax<\/i> received critical acclaim, with many praising the performances, direction, cinematography and soundtrack.<\/p>\n
