Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb<\/b><\/i>, more commonly known simply as Dr. Strangelove<\/b><\/i>, is a 1964 political satire<\/a> black comedy<\/a> film that satirizes the Cold War<\/a> fears of a nuclear conflict between the Soviet Union<\/a> and the United States<\/a>. The film was directed, produced, and co-written by Stanley Kubrick<\/a>, stars Peter Sellers<\/a>, George C. Scott<\/a> and Slim Pickens<\/a>. Production took place in the United Kingdom<\/a>. The film is loosely based on Peter George<\/a>‘s thriller<\/a> novel Red Alert<\/a><\/i> (1958).<\/p>\n

A film about what could happen if the wrong person pushed the wrong button — and it played the situation for laughs. U.S. Air Force General Jack Ripper goes completely insane, and sends his bomber wing to destroy the U.S.S.R. He thinks that the communists are conspiring to pollute the “precious bodily fluids” of the American people.<\/span><\/div><\/div><\/span><\/p>\n
