Uri: The Surgical Strike<\/b><\/i> is a 2019 Indian action film<\/a>[4]<\/a><\/sup>[5]<\/a><\/sup> written and directed by Aditya Dhar in his debut, and produced by Ronnie Screwvala<\/a> under the banner of RSVP Movies. The film features Vicky Kaushal<\/a>, Paresh Rawal<\/a>, Mohit Raina<\/a> and Yami Gautam<\/a> in lead roles. A fictionalised account of the retaliation<\/a> to the 2016 Uri attack<\/a>, the film follows Major Vihaan Singh Sherghil of the Indian Army<\/a>, who plays a leading role in organizing it.[6]<\/a><\/sup> Uri<\/i> was theatrically released on 11 January 2019.[7]<\/a><\/sup>[8]<\/a><\/sup> It received mostly positive reviews from critics[9]<\/a><\/sup>, and earned a total of \u20b9 35.73 crore during its opening weekend.<\/p>\n

Vihaan Singh Shergil (Vicky Kaushal) is a Major in the Indian Army. In an organized attack at the Uri army base<\/a> in 2016, his brother-in-law (Mohit Raina) is among the killed soldiers. A sorrowful Vihaan vows to seek revenge for both his brother-in-law and the country.<\/div><\/div><\/span><\/p>\n
