The Green Mile<\/b><\/i> is a 1999 American fantasy<\/a> crime drama film<\/a> written and directed by Frank Darabont<\/a> and adapted<\/a> from Stephen King<\/a>\u2019s 1996 novel of the same name<\/a>. The film stars Tom Hanks<\/a> as Paul Edgecomb and Michael Clarke Duncan<\/a> as John Coffey, with supporting roles by David Morse<\/a>, Bonnie Hunt<\/a>, and James Cromwell<\/a>. The film also features Dabbs Greer<\/a> in his final film, as the older Paul Edgecomb. The film, told in a flashback<\/a> format, tells the story of Paul’s life as a death row<\/a> corrections officer<\/a> during the U.S. Great Depression<\/a>, and the supernatural<\/a> events he witnessed.<\/p>\n

The lives of guards on Death Row are affected by one of their charges: a black man accused of child murder and rape, yet who has a mysterious gift.<\/div><\/div><\/span><\/p>\n
